Eight Dead in Iran Floods

Floods in southern Iran have already claimed at least eight lives. The state media report this. In addition, the Iranian weather service warns for another three days of heavy precipitation.


In addition to the eight dead, Mojtaba Khaledi, the spokesman for the rescue service, is quoted by the Irna news agency. Floods also injured 14 people in southern provinces.

The rainfall also caused damage to agriculture, roads and homes. In Iran, the Red Crescent provided emergency shelters for more than 3,000 people, while more than 20,000 received other forms of emergency assistance.

In addition to the south of Iran, several Gulf countries have also been affected by the rainfall since Sunday.
