Two people have been killed, and eight are missing in Egypt after a truck carrying 24 people fell aboard a ferry crossing the Nile on Monday night and sank into the river.
This was reported by the prosecutor’s office on Tuesday.
Children are also among the missing. Fourteen of the occupants were rescued. The search for the Nile Delta continues.
The ferry was not licensed to carry vehicles, authorities said. The driver of the truck and three ferry employees have been arrested.
