Lithuania Expels Russian Ambassador

In response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, its neighbouring Russian country Lithuania expels the Russian ambassador from the country.

The consulate in the city of Klaipeda must also be closed, the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

The Lithuanian ambassador in Moscow will soon return to Lithuania.

To justify the measure, the ministry points to the massacres of civilians in Bucha and other Ukrainian cities, which “will undoubtedly be included in the list of crimes committed on European territory”.
